Tim Beal recently retired from Victoria University where he had taught on Asia and international marketing for many years. He is currently working on the 3rd Asia/Pacific edition of a standard textbook on international marketing. He has researched and written about many aspects of Asia, ranging from Korea through to India.
Recent activities have included research on the impact of Foreign Tax Agreements on the Korean wine market and participation in a group study on NZ services exports to China and India. Last year saw the publication of a Korean edition of his first book on Korea, and the publication of his second, Crisis in Korea. He is currently working on a book on the transformation of the North Korean economy, and another on the convoluted relationship between America and China. He also maintains a website focussed on Asian geopolitics.
