Professor Siah Hwee Ang is the inaugural BNZ Chair in Business in Asia, a position sponsored by Bank of New Zealand, Victoria University of Wellington, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. In this role, Siah works closely with various stakeholders and companies on their strategies in Asia and Asia’s engagement in NZ. Before joining Victoria University, he was Professor in Strategy and Associate Dean Postgraduate and International at the University of Auckland Business School, research fellow at both Cass Business School, City University in London and National University of Singapore, where he completed his PhD in Management. Siah is Visiting Professor at Lanzhou University in China and Universiti Malaya in Malaysia. Siah is the Senior Editor of the Journal of World Business, a top international business journal. He writes a weekly “Understanding China” column for interest.co.nz and a weekly International Business column for Fairfax Media, which includes The Dominion Post, The Press and stuff.co.nz. Siah is on the advisory group to the Economic Committee of APEC, and has worked/is currently working with executives from Fletcher Building, Fairfax Media, TVNZ, Fonterra, Genesis Energy, New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, Cranleigh Merchant Bankers, BioPacificVentures, New Zealand Customs Service, AucklandPlus; Ministry of Research, Science and Technology, TCI Network (Spain), Ernst & Young (Germany), and Civil Service College (Singapore).
