Dr Kara Scally-Irvine had developed an accidental interest in Asia and is now a keen supporter and advocate of Asian affairs. She has lived, worked and travelled in Asia, from the bright lights and big city of Tokyo to the remote jungles of Cambodia. She now works as a Senior Consultant at Evaluation Consult which provides specialist monitoring and evaluation services, including on projects and programmes in Asia. From her contrasting experiences in living and working in Asia, she has developed an appreciation of the similarities and differences ‘Asia’ has, both within and between countries, and the implications this can have for anyone keen to engage. She recognises the importance and value of forums such as the Asia Forum to foster dialogue and understanding and is proud to be part of the team.
