Reuben Levermore is presently the Special Adviser to the International Development Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Wellington.
Reuben served as New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand, Cambodia and Lao PDR from August 2014 until November 2015. Prior to that, he served as New Zealand Ambassador to the Philippines from February 2012 until August 2014.
He was trade negotiations adviser to New Zealand Trade Minister Hon. Tim Groser from March 2009 until November 2011. Reuben has also worked in the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on multilateral trade negotiations, and was posted to the New Zealand Mission to the European Union in Brussels.
Reuben has also worked as a financial markets advocate in the City of London, representing the bond trading desks of major international investment banks in the European Government Bond markets.
He holds a First Class Honours degree in Law and a Bachelors degree in Arts, majoring in political studies, from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.
