In this meeting, Denis Win Thein will offer an update on Myanmar’s evolving domestic security and political landscape and its implications for neighbouring countries and ASEAN. Denis will discuss options leading to peace and stability in response to shifting dynamics across the region and global stage, as well as the importance of cooperation among major powers to end turmoil in the country.

About the speaker:

Mr. Denis Win Thein is Director of Strategic Projects at Oriel Management Consulting Pte Ltd, and is currently based in Wellington, New Zealand. Denis oversees project origination and developments in Information Technology, Education, Power Investment and Agribusiness in Myanmar and NZ. He served as the Chapter Chair for the ASEAN – NZ Business Council (based in Auckland New Zealand) for the Myanmar Chapter for ten years.

In addition, he has worked with many companies and organisations in New Zealand and other countries on technology and other investments in Myanmar.

Denis was born in Burma and migrated to NZ in 1976. He has previously spoken to Asia Forum.
