H.E. Mr. Yeo Seung-bae

After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Seoul National University, Mr Yeo went on to gain a Master of Arts degree in International Politics from the University of Virginia.

He has held a number of diplomatic and public service positions in Korea, including Chief of North Korean Nuclear Affairs Bureau, Director of North Korean Nuclear Affair Division, Deputy Director-General for the Office of Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, Senior Director of the National Security Council Secretariat, and Director-General for Planning and Management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He received the Service Merit Medal in 2012.

Prior to his appointment in Wellington, he was the Director-General for North American Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
