H.E. Dr. Jesus “Gary” S. Domingo
H.E. Dr. Jesus “Gary” S. Domingo assumed as Philippine Ambassador to New Zealand, with concurrent accreditation to the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga in April this year. Immediately prior to his posting to Wellington he was the Philippine Foreign Ministry Assistant Secretary in charge of United Nations and International Organizations Affairs and Secretary-General of the Philippine National Council for UN Peace Operations. His other Foreign Service postings included the Philippine Missions to the UN in New York and Geneva, and the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ambassador Gary has studied at the Universities of Geneva, Georgetown, Harvard and the Philippines, the National Defense College of the Philippines and the Philippine College of Criminology. He was decorated last month by the President of the Philippines for his role in coordinating international humanitarian assistance for Supertyphoon Yolanda in 2013, promoting disaster risk reduction and management cooperation and direction of Philippine UN Peacekeeping deployments.
