Bio-note of the Speaker:

Andre Omer Siregar is Assistant Special Staff at the Office of the Special Staff for International Relations of the Indonesian President since 2011. He is currently interpreter of the Indonesian President and has the privilege to interpret for PM Helen Clark and PM John Key during their meetings with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Previously he worked for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as a diplomat at the Indonesian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York for four years. Andre was the Chairperson of the New York-based UN General Assembly negotiations on Migration and Development in 2005 – 2006. He has also been participating in the “Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime” since its inception in 2002 until the latest one this year. Andre is a graduate of Victoria University of Wellington and Monash University.
